Course overview
SIMPOT represents an opportunity for Physio and Occupational Therapy staff to develop skills in the identification and management of the deteriorating patient utilising challenging clinical scenarios in a full day immersive simulation based training program.
This course is for Physio and OT’s only
Experienced Band 6 staff (and above) of each discipline (PT, OT) wishing to explore the development of non-technical skills within an acute care setting.
- To manage/lead a challenging clinical scenario
- To understand the impact of human factors in the management of the deteriorating or challenging patient
- To explore Crisis Resource Management (CRM) key points and their role in supporting clinical leadership
- To practice unfamiliar, unusual or infrequent clinical events in a supportive environment
- To evaluate own and others performance using a non-technical framework for giving feedback.
