Course overview

This three-day course is aimed at practitioners who meet cancer patients as part of their daily work, but are not working in specialist areas.  The course will greatly enhance your knowledge and understanding of cancer, enabling you to provide better care to cancer patients at all stages of their treatment.

This course is exclusively for Bart’s staff and will be delivered in partnership with the Royal Marsden School

This course is for practitioners who are working in general settings, including community and hospices, who meet patients being investigated, diagnosed and treated for cancer.

  • The causes of cancer and how it can be prevented and is diagnosed
  • How cancer is treated and why side effects occur
  • The principles of assessment and management of toxicity and other symptoms
  • Develop confidence to communicate with patients who have cancer and their families.
