Course overview

This 2-day course is aimed at equipping health care professionals with core knowledge, skills and attitudes in caring for patients living with life limiting conditions advanced disease and those at the end of life. This course is for healthcare professionals providing general palliative and end of life care in an acute setting. Registrants at Band 5 and above.

This course is for healthcare professionals providing general palliative and end of life care in an acute setting.
Registrants at Band 5 and above

  • Develop detailed understanding to assess the holistic needs of palliative care patients, the dying person and those important to them
  • Critically evaluate evidence-based approaches to managing the holistic care needs of palliative care patients, the dying person and bereavement
  • Develop and maintain a healthy sense of self and resilience in delivering End of Life Care

This 2-day course is aimed at equipping health care professionals with core knowledge, skills and attitudes in caring for patients living with life limiting conditions advanced disease and those at the end of life. 

Upon successful completion, learners will be issued with an electronic reflective portfolio to be completed after a month of attending the course. Based on the Health Education England End of Life Care outcomes (2019), the portfolio will consist of a short reflection demonstrating how the learning outcomes are achieved in practice.
