Nurses who have an NMC recognized mentorship qualification for more than twelve months

• To gain knowledge of the role of a Sign Off Mentor
• To identify the needs of a Final Placement Student
• To discuss the assessment of signing-off of a final placement student

During this study day and the subsequent support in practice, the following will be covered;

• The NMC Standards to Support Learning and Assessment in Practice (NMC 2008, SLAiP).
• The role of a Sign Off Mentor
• The learning needs of final placement student nurses in practice
• Assessing the competence and ability of final placement student nurses in practice
• Providing feedback to students
• Passing and failing students in practice
